Artist Statement
As a native Texan, Ron grew up in the Panhandle, then moved on to San Antonio, San Marcos, Dallas and eventually landed in rural East Texas where he resides with his wife and fellow artist, Liv.
Although he started his quest in the art world at the age of seven and was painting with oils by the age of nine, he pursued a Bachelors Degree in Business and spent twenty years in management and real estate. His true calling to be an artist once again surfaced in 1988 and has been his full time occupation ever since.
Ron is currently working in acrylics on canvas and wood panels in what may best be described as “abstract landscape” emphasizing color, texture and form. Use of the deep, rich, primary colors to render trees, the seasons, flowers and birds has allowed him to produce warm inviting scenery that can really put your mind at rest in a place you just don’t want to leave. His inspiration comes from the God given beauty of nature that surrounds his home and studio.
After hand stretching and preparing his own canvas or wood panel, each original painting is finely crafted in acrylic paint, then coated with a non-toxic protective finish to assure the lasting qualities needed. On request, limited edition, numbered prints are available both on canvas and on archival fine art paper in addition to his original paintings.
