I want my work to be a window onto the amazing world of natural beauty.  My hope is that people will view my work and feel joy at the gifts of beauty that we have been given.

Whether shooting flora or landscapes, I feel privileged to travel to beautiful gardens, State and Federal Parks, and flower shows. When shooting in my own studio, I am able to completely control the lighting, backdrop, angle of my subject, etc.

The process begins with my Nikon camera.  Using a RAW format allows me to capture an image with the highest resolution available.  I almost always shoot on a tripod and use a remote timer, to get that perfect stillness, which improves the quality of my shots.  Once the image is captured, I return to my studio and using a computer, I am able to edit my images.

I am also the printmaker.  My printing is done with the Canon W8400, a Wide Format printer capable of producing archival quality prints with pigment inks. Once I arrive at a printing formula (to produce the desired effect) for each image the actual printing begins.  Some images are printed on archival photo paper and matted in acid free mats.   If the image is printed on canvas, a canvas ready file must be created.  This file is made by mirror imaging the outer 1 ½ inch of the artwork, which will serve to wrap around the stretcher bars and not disturb the composition of my original image.  Once printed and cured, I coat the canvas for UV and waterproofing protection and durability.  After further curing, the canvas is stretched on 1 ½ inch gallery wrap, high quality stretcher bars to eliminate the possibility of warping or bowing.  This process allows me to produce high quality numbered, limited edition photographic prints.
